In 2020, Mirasur School became the first TED-Ed Club in Madrid<\/strong>. Since then, over 800 students<\/strong> have taken part in this powerful learning experience, guided by passionate primary school educators Zaira Poblador<\/strong>, Jos\u00e9 Ram\u00f3n Camacho<\/strong>, and Borja Gonz\u00e1lez<\/strong>. Their commitment to personal development and education has made TED-Ed a cornerstone subject at Mirasur.<\/p>\n

TED-Ed at Mirasur is built on an active, visual, and student-driven methodology<\/strong>, supported by a dedicated website offering engaging resources for both students and families. The platform includes the full curriculum and classroom session outlines, fostering autonomy and self-directed learning. The entire project is delivered in English<\/strong>, helping students strengthen their communication and language skills.<\/p>\n

A Subject with Structure and Purpose<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The TED-Ed subject is divided into three annual projects:<\/p>\n

    Discover<\/strong> (1st Term): Students share personal stories about themselves and their families. This first step helps build confidence in public speaking and fosters a safe space for expression.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Develop<\/strong> (2nd Term): Each student researches their personal passion and presents it through a visual brochure, which they later present to their peers. This phase enhances critical thinking and research skills.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Share<\/strong> (3rd Term): Students refine their TED-style talk, learning how to use effective transitions, high-quality visuals, and clear messaging. They rehearse in front of a camera and learn to deliver their message with impact and emotion.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    \u201cThe research and presentation process helps students not only develop their speaking skills, but also their ability to empathize and connect with others,\u201d<\/em> says Borja Gonz\u00e1lez.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

    The highlight of the year<\/strong> is the TED-Ed Event, where students choose their role: as audience members, organizers, presenters, or speakers. Every year, more than 40 students<\/strong> take part in organizing the event, which has become a key moment for our school community.<\/p>\n

    \u201cThis event is the final step in a journey where students not only grow academically and personally, but also discover the power of sharing their passion to make a difference,\u201d<\/em> explains teacher Zaira.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

    Progressive Learning with Real-World Impact<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    From Year 3 to Year 6, TED-Ed supports students in discovering and refining their passions, guiding them toward using their interests for social good:<\/p>\n

      In Year 3<\/strong>, students begin identifying what inspires and motivates them, learning about their strengths and interests.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      In Year 4<\/strong>, they explore real-life role models who have used their passions to spark change.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      In Year 5<\/strong>, they connect their passion to real-world issues. They research NGOs<\/strong>, projects<\/strong>, and organizations<\/strong> aligned with their interests, exploring how they can make a difference.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      In Year 6<\/strong>, they carry out a \u201c20 Time Project\u201d<\/strong>, dedicating 20% of their class time to a specific action that benefits the school or wider community. This stage reflects the program\u2019s core message:<\/p>\n
