Graduation Ceremony of the 24th Class of Baccalaureate Students at Mirasur School
On Friday, May 16th, Mirasur School held the Graduation Ceremony for its 24th Baccalaureate Class — a heartfelt event that brought together students, families, teachers, and school staff to celebrate the closing of an academic chapter filled with effort, growth, and learning.
The graduates’ tutors — Juan Güemes, Gustavo Fernández, and Noelia Piñar — addressed their students with an emotional speech recognizing their perseverance and dedication throughout a demanding year.
“You have overcome pressure, discouragement, frustration, and fatigue. Today we celebrate the first of many battles you’ll win in your adult life,” they said. The tutors also emphasized the value of shared experiences in classrooms and hallways — spaces where lasting friendships and unforgettable moments were formed.
They reminded students that “a grade does not define you as a person,” quoting Leo Tolstoy: “The secret to happiness is not in doing always what you like, but in liking always what you do.” A message of motivation and hope as the students prepare for their next challenge: the PAU exams.
The tutors also expressed their gratitude to their fellow teachers and to the families, acknowledging that education is a collective journey:
“Thank you for entrusting us with the education of the most precious thing you have — your children.”
The Best Time of Your Life
Mirasur School’s Director, Pedro Sampedro, shared a powerful reflection on the importance of pursuing dreams with passion and commitment — but also with effort and humility.
“Passion is the spark that drives us, but it’s not enough on its own. Reaching your goals will require hard work, sacrifice, and the ability to accept failure without giving up,” he said. He highlighted that a strong work ethic and a sense of responsibility — values passed down from previous generations — are essential companions on the road ahead.
In an inspiring message, he encouraged graduates to embrace this stage of life, “the best time — full of energy and room for error,” as a time to grow, take risks, and build a fulfilling future.
“Move forward with confidence and determination,” he concluded, “because you truly deserve this congratulations.”
The final speaker, Juana Corral, Academic Director for Secondary and Baccalaureate, focused her message on the pursuit of happiness, encouraging students to appreciate the small moments along the way.
“Happiness is not always found in the result, but in the process,” she said. “If you learn to distinguish what is essential from what is merely important, if you stay excited about your projects and nurture your relationships, you will be very close to finding happiness,” she emphasized, quoting Spanish author Eduardo Punset.
Families, visibly moved, joined in the applause and celebrations, aware of the significance of this milestone — not only for their children but for the entire Mirasur educational community.
With the awarding of diplomas and a reception for families, the ceremony concluded a day filled with emotion and hope, opening the door to a bright future for the 24th graduating class of Mirasur School.
