The adventure of growing
During the Primary stage, we consolidate the knowledge acquired and prepare our students to develop the necessary skills for meaningful future learning.
At Mirasur School, our educational project in this stage focuses on fostering student autonomy, implementing a methodology for the proper acquisition of academic and emotional knowledge, consolidating English as the language of instruction, and promoting healthy habits through sports and various workshops offered by the Guidance Department.
Mirasur School is officially an IB World School with the Primary Years Programme (PYP).

Our Approach
At Mirasur School, we work with an inquiry-based learning approach that encourages students to ask questions, investigate and build their own understanding. We integrate proven methodologies and best educational practices to create a stimulating, engaging and meaningful learning environment.
Primary Years Programme (PYP)
The Primary Years Programme (PYP) structures learning around six transdisciplinary themes of global relevance. Through these themes, students develop knowledge, skills and attitudes across different subject areas, fostering curiosity, reflection and deep understanding, with a strong emphasis on learning through inquiry.
English in Primary: a strong foundation from the early years
At Mirasur School, learning English is an essential part of our educational project from the very first stages. From Early Years through Year 3, students work in the classroom with a co-teaching model, supported at all times by one Spanish-speaking teacher and one English-speaking teacher across all subjects. This approach encourages a natural and progressive exposure to the language, fully integrated into everyday learning.
From Year 4 onwards, students continue to strengthen their language skills through seven weekly English lessons, which include focused language instruction and Cambridge exam preparation, consolidating both oral and written communication skills.
In addition, throughout the entire Primary stage, some subjects are taught entirely in English — such as Drama, Art, Robotics and Music — allowing students to use the language in a practical and meaningful context, building confidence and fluency in a natural way.

Drama Program
Enhance oral expression in English through theatrical interpretation. We work in an effective and enjoyable manner on oral expression, as well as comprehension, reading, and writing in the English language.

Nurturing critical thinking, bilingual communication, wellbeing, and leadership vision
Autonomy and Critical Thinking
We foster autonomy and critical thinking in our students. They learn to make decisions, take responsibility and carry out academic and personal projects. Through debates, they develop skills to identify, analyze, evaluate and interpret different cases encouraging trial and error.
Bilingual Communication
Bilingual communication is one of our priorities.
During the Primary Education stage, our students develop skills to express themselves orally and in writing fluently using English as the vehicular language.
Culture of Wellbeing
We promote a culture of wellbeing within our community through PE sessions and wellbeing workshops, providing knowledge and tools to adopt healthy habits, both physically and emotionally.
Our goal is to foster a healthy lifestyle and the overall wellbeing of our students.
Vision of Leadership
We drive entrepreneurial spirit and leadership through our E.L.I.E Program (Entrepreneurship, Leadership, and Executive Intelligence), which equips our students with the necessary skills to make decisions, work in teams and lead in the real world. Through practical projects and expert mentors, we develop their creativity, resilience and adaptability. We prepare our students to face challenges and become agents of change.
