School Guidance

Nurturing a culture of shared responsibility

Guidance Team

The guidance department is responsible for supporting pupils and families. We have 3 counsellors, one for the Infant Education stage, one for the Primary Education stage and the head of the department who is responsible for guidance in Secondary and Baccalaureate.

Together they work to guide students and families in order to offer the best educational experience at the school, help new students adapt, accompany them in their academic and professional decisions, as well as offering them the tools for the resolution of current and future conflicts.

School Staff

All members of the school are committed to providing a pleasant, safe and caring environment for students. The school staff take great pride in fostering a positive learning atmosphere that supports the academic and personal growth of each student.

Families

Families are an active part of our educational community and we work to involve them in the exciting journey of their children's education. Through tutorials and the School for Families, led by the Guidance Team, we manage to create a bond of honesty and mutual trust.

Tutor

The figure of the tutor is fundamental for the academic and personal development of the pupil. They are the most active part of the relationship with families and the first person the child sees every day, which creates familiarity and trust between pupil and teacher.

A safe and happy environment

We work to provide a supportive and stimulating school environment where pupils and staff feel safe and happy.

The Welfare Coordinator and the Guidance Team work to prevent conflict between pupils, provide support and guidance for conflict resolution and maintain a pleasant atmosphere in the school.

In order to ensure the safety and security of our teaching and learning environments, we have in place Cognita's child protection policies, procedures and governance which are based on UK legal requirements adapted to Spanish legislation, reinforced with best practice.

Learning Support

At Mirasur School our teachers work to offer the best educational experience in and out of the classroom. Each pupil is different and the teachers work to enhance the skills and abilities of each one, adapting the academic curriculum if necessary.

The teaching team and the guidance department offer monitoring and curricular adaptations in cases of high abilities and educational needs, following up with the pupils and their families to ensure that our pupils develop their full potential.
